They also understand the role of effective navigation across the entire continuum of care, and understand and are able to apply other key aspects of navigation, including clinical trial screenings and tumor board coordination and monitoring, as well as measurement using evidence-based navigation metrics, to name but a few.It is the only book designed to educate and support anyone developing a new navigation program, or wanting to improve one they have created. About the Author

Lillie D. Shockney is a professor of surgery and oncology as well as having been appointed by the Dean of the School of Medicine and the President of the University to a faculty chair (University Distinguished Service Professor of Breast Cancer at Johns Hopkins). She is a registered nurse with a BS in healthcare administration and a masterâ€™s degree in administrative science from Johns Hopkins University, and her employment began at Hopkins in 1983. She serves as the director of the breast center and the director of cancer survivorship programs for the cancer center. Professor Shockney is the founder and program director of the Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators (AONN+). She has received 52 awardsâ€•46 national and 6 state awards, including being inducted into the Maryland Women Hall of Fame and recipient of the Johnson & Johnson Most Amazing Nurse in America. Well known for her public speaking and literary work, she has published 14 prior books and more than 275 articles on breast cancer, cancer navigation, survivorship care, metastatic breast cancer, and patient advocacy.

An Australian nurse decides to go Saudi Arabia for the change of pace. She ends up in Medina where the entrance to infidels is forbidden so hospital where she is supposed to work outside it. From ther first she encounters major issues with housing, shopping, dressing and local culture.This books deserves 5 stars-not only the author tells about her work and stay in Saudi Arabia, she also does this in a quite humorous manner. There were so many times I was laughing out loud because her remarks were hilarious.And on the personal note-after reading this book, its clear if you are a woman, and you wish to go to Saudi Arabia, you must be insane or glutton for punishment

This nurse pretty much felt like a prisoner on a stint of working in a middle-east country. None of theamenadies she'd been promised were available. Very hard working conditions, long hours, dutiesrequired that hadn't been mentioned before she went, sparse living conditions, not enough food available,actually a nightmare for a nurse used to working in the US.

The author has a grim story about life (and death) with religious police in Saudi Arabia. Fortunately, she balances this with humor. I was amazed at how she coped and even managed to improve inhumane patient conditions at the hospital where she was recruited. And let this book be a warning about job recruitment agencies for employment in foreign countries. This author thought she had done her research and ended up being a virtual prisoner.This book is easy to read and very worthwhile.

As a nurse I enjoyed this book. At one time I thought about taking a nursing job in Saudi Arabia, after reading this book I am glad I didn't go.

This book is about Lydia's time in Saudi Arabian hospital working as a nurse. Many rules about how to dress, go about the country and how to be around men. Apparently she was not allowed to write about her experience, but she did anyway probably to give others considering such positions a reality check of what to expect.

This book confirms the shaky foundation on which the Saud family rules. If it were not for the Mutawas (the renegade self-proclaimed keepers of the faith) who run around hitting and whipping people for the merest violation and the chopping off of hands, and of course the oil, the Saud family would collapse. They rule by money and fear.The author was forced to watch a whipping of 2 men and a girl for the mere exchange of a video. Clearly, God Himself would not have done this, but their twisted interpretation of the Qur'an allows them to perpetrate the most vile acts against other humans, women in particular. Women have no rights. They cannot drive nor travel without permission from their husband or other male family figure. They are treated like infants and are considered less than camels and donkeys. They are nothing more than property, for breeding. If a man wishes to kill his daughter or sister for real or imagined contact with a man, no problem. Women are expendable.This book is important reading for anyone contemplating living or working in Saudi Arabia. You've been warned.

I could not put the book down. It only made me despise Saudi Arabia even more than I already did!!!

Although the facts of living are atrocious for women, this novel left me with a desire to explore Jeddah in the Middle East!!!!!

About the Author

Born in 1934 on the island of Hokkaido, in the north of Japan, into a family of studio photographers, Masahisa Fukase began a career as a freelance reporter in the late 1960s. In 1971 he published his first photography book, consisting of group portraits of his family. In 1974, he cofounded the Workshop Photography School with Shomei Tomatsu, Eikoh Hosoe, Noriaki Yokosuka, Nobuyoshi Araki and Daido Moriyama; that same year, MoMA in New York dedicated a milestone exhibition to them (New Japanese Photography). In 1992, at the age of 58, following a fall, Fukase was maintained on life support until his death in 2012.

Love love love! Had a hard time giving it away yo my son for Christmas! Very pleased with service

If this is the autographed Justin Verlander baseball it's great. This was a gift of his no hitter ball. My Detroit Tigers fan has it displayed very proudly, in his library. It came without a hitch.

My Dad loved receiving this for Father's Day! I highly recommend it to any serious baseball lover.Great shots and the stories to back them up....consider giving this fabulous book.

Great for nostalgic revisitation of the good old days of baseball when I was a kid. Too bad baseball is the way it is now...

The book is fascinating, with many pictures never seen before, more interesting the explanations behind the pictures, a collectors item

I read all the reviews for this book and decided to buy it for my dad. He is a big baseball fan and I thought this would be perfect. He complained the photos were not the best quality, book was extremely heavy and the print was extremely small. I hate to say it, but I kind of agreed and was also disappointed. He is going to donate the book and I am sure there will be someone out there who will love this book. But hey, everyone is entitled to their own opinion!

It's mind-boggling to think that Neil Leifer was basically a kid when he took most of these pictures. Born in '42, Leifer had shot a great many of these images before he was even 21. (There's a great shot of him sitting with Stan Musial in which he doesn't even look old enough to be the bat boy, much less a professional pohotographer.) Clearly, however, he was a prodigy and a natural, because this book is full of incredible shots that rank right up there with his iconic photo of Ali standing over Liston. The narrative that goes along with the images isn't always illuminating; if you're a big enough fan of baseball history to be buying a book like this, then you will already know most of what it has to say. But the text is beside the point; it's the pictures that matter, and on that score Leifer is hard to touch in the history of sports photography. Most of the great players of the 50's, 60's, and 70's are represented, in a wealth of B&W images along with amazingly vibrant color shots that capture the sometimes balletic, sometimes violent beauty of this 'pastoral' game (to borrow the popular misnomer, undoubtedly coined by someone who's never seen a collision at the plate up close).For fans of baseball or photojournalism, this is worth every penny.
