This paperback book is 8.5" high, 5.5" wide, and 5/8" thick. A nice size for including in a backpack (inside of a protective zip lock bag, of course.)Prior to any of the chapters on specific plant species, there is a very useful "Pictoral Key to Leaf Shapes" followed by a "Pictoral Key to Fruits and Seeds". These contain drawings of shapes and list the names of plants associated with those shapes. This helps the user to locate the chapter(s) to find more detailed information. I especially liked this.The plant chapters are in alphabetical order by the author's preferred choice of common names.It covers 66 non-poisonous plants and 5 poisonous plants. Each chapter fairly consistently contains the following section & subsection headers (parentheses mean that it is present only when applicable):1. Most Prominent Characteristicso Overall Shape snd Sizeo Stalks and Stemso Leaveso Flowerso (Bark)o (Fruit)o (Seeds)o (Roots)2. Beneficial Propertieso Edible Propertieso Medicinal Useso Other Uses -- (I especially liked this part)3. Detrimental Properties4. Where Found5. Growing Cycle6. (Lore and Signature)When no information is known, that section will contain, "We'd appreciate authenticated reports from readers."There is at least 1 photo for every plant chapter. Chapters having multiple photos were few and often did not take advantage of an opportunity to provide a close-up to emphasize a point being brought up in the text. Some of the plant photos also include a person standing or crouching next to the plant. This helps to give a size context to the overall plant (this is goodness), but when it is the only photo then 3/4 of the photo is of a person and maybe just 10% is the plant, so not much detail of the plant's leaves, flowers, or other parts are discernible to the reader.In the majority of the cases, there is not a useful close-up photo of a part that could be helpful for identification. In some cases, the selected photo seems to contradict the text that describes a part of the plant, so one is left wondering if the text was wrong, if the photo was of the wrong plant, or if the photo just wasn't showing what the text was describing. For example the text may talk about the teeth along the leaf margins, but teeth aren't visible in the photo. Additional close-up photos would have been useful.There are plenty of places where it's clear that the author is writing from personal experience. Yet there are also plenty of places where it reads as if he's copying the information from some other technical source. His choice of words in describing the plant is a case in point.Although there is a useful glossary in the back of the book, the author frequently uses terms that are uncommon to the ordinary reader for which an everyday term could have been used instead. I found it annoying having to flip back and forth between the main sections and the glossary. Towards the end of the book, the author started adding the common terms in parentheses after first using the technical term, increasing the verbiage unnecessarily when the common term would have sufficed. (Why use "glabrous" instead of "hairless", "pubescent" instead of "hairy", "incised" instead of toothed", or "entire" instead of "toothless" ?) It made me wonder if he was writing the book to score points with botanists rather than for the common person.In the "Medicinal Uses" sections, there were occasionally no entries for technical terms in the glossary. A book's value in a backpack is considerably reduced when technical terms are used without giving their definitions. I hope the next printing will include glossary entries for anodyne, catarrh, depurative, hepatic, lignin, narcosis, pectin, and piles.I was amused when the "Edible Properties" subsection under the "Beneficial Properties" section for poisonous plants like Jimsonweed and Poison Hemlock contained the word "Poisonous!" in red letters. But then the author continued with a long paragraph or more of text about its detrimental qualities -- these are not "Beneficial Properties". Why not just say, "Poisonous! Do not eat. See Detrimental Properties for further details." ?I disagree with the author's comment on page 136 that "All parts of the milkweed must be boiled in water (usually at least twice with a rinsing between boilings) before they are rendered palatable." I've eaten milkweed's raw flower buds and the tender raw top 2 or 4 leaves and found them delicious without the slightest trace of bitterness.

Great book to learn about wild plants. Great detail from the description to the close up color photographs. Saw it in a library and purchased it here. I teach scouts about survival plants, this is a great tool for that.

In my opinion this is a must have for those of us who like to get out and enjoy mother natures free offerings. Detail and great pictures, gotta love it. I recommend it highly.

I'm probably going to get throttled for this - but I wasn't impressed with the hero. It's weird - because starting out, he seemed like he was caring and had a special spot for the heroine....then he just became this jerk. I mean, here she is, the actual victim, and he's all "me, me, me" and just a total a-hole.The sex scenes were hot.***SPOILER*****::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::There is a trigger scene - if you don't like your hero's sharing, watch out.****END SPOILER*****Overall this book was just okay. The heroine is in a sticky situation (to say the least) and the hero and his group jump in to save her. Although, the question on if she's really out of trouble or not remain throughout the book. I don't feel like I really saw these two falling in love. Maybe it's just because of the hardness of the hero, but I felt like they were fighting and then just in love. I dunno...Also, the heroine was tough in her head, but not with her body. She just bent to the hero's whim whenever he demanded it.This is the book where The Last Rider series and The VIP Room series really connect for the readers.I'd recommend this book, but only with a warning that the hero, while Alpha and possessive, is a jerk. JUST IN MY OPINION

What can I say, I love Jamie Begley! If you have not read her series I strongly suggest you read the books in order as there is a lot of overlap in the different series. This book, along with its sister book Teased (VIP Room 1) can be read as stand alones. At least I think they can. But again, I strongly suggest you read Jamie's books in the suggested order, which is kind of convoluted. But makes perfect sense if read as suggested! I enjoyed this book a lot. It has dark themes, such as kidnapping, sexual slavery and trafficking. Not subjects that are pleasant for anyone to read, but Jamie does a wonderful job of dealing with the subjects in a way that gives the reader the ability to know they are part of the story, but does not define the story itself. As with all JB books there is great character development, making you fall in love with not only the leads but many of the secondary characters as well as hot sex. Yep, hot sex. If you don't like very sexual books, Jamie is NOT the author for you. If you DO, one click away! Wonderful read, highly recommend.

Sawyer's story is full of surprises and entwines with the Last Rider's series! I love how Ms. Begley has interconnected the characters from the VIP Room series and the Last Rider's series! Sawyer and Kaden are funny how they first try to fight the attraction and then Sawyer even harder than Kaden. They are just so right for each other. Sawyer and Vida have had such a heartbreaking past, so when they finally are able to reunite you are so happy for them. Vida and Colton were an awesome couple from the first book in the VIP Room series. These characters struggled through terrible pasts and survived, becoming caring, sweet and so loving of their friendships. Great series but you may also want to read the Last Riders series to get more stories of other characters in these books! Jamie weaves a story, keeping you turning the pages, wanting to know what is going to happen next. You will laugh, feel heartbreak and fall in love with these characters!

Sometimes books you like right away some others you have to think about and process. Tainted was like that for me. At the beginning I was not sure if I like Sawyer or Kaden. She was a little too "innocent" about her situation. Did she think she could just walk away and really fought someone she shouldn't. SPOILER. For goodness sack she was kidnapped and while the idiot manager was responsible for the sitaation Kaden and the band were trying to help her. At being said Kaden was a bit of an anti hero-- not as likable as some of other Jamie's heroes. But Kaden grows on you- he is open with Sawyer about what he wants and doesn't play games. I really liked that-- he was not a man white (anymore) and I loved how he was with Sawyer once they became a couple. I really ended enjoying the book and loved the end-- he gave Sawyer whatvshe needed and wanted in a very special way.

Kaden is a rock star. He's back helping out his band after quitting. RJ, the manager, thought it'd be a good idea to hire some prostitutes. He had no interest until he stumbled onto Sawyer. Sawyer has been kidnapped and all she wants is to get back to Vida, her best friend. Kaden comes up with a plan to save her, but she can't know. Vida feels like she traded one prison for another. Confused at the feelings he bring out in her, she struggles until it's almost to late. Kaden is fighting demons from his past, but he knows one thing, Sawyer will be his. Loved it!

Clever Sapo enlists the aid of his toad friends, and wins. Native animals such as toucans, spider monkeys, tapirs, and jaguars line the purple path to watch as Venado is tricked into defeat. With the addition of these many South American beasts as well as of italicized Spanish words, the text works hard to make this book a cross-cultural experience. Stylized paintings use fanciful opaque colors and decorative patterns to give the story zesty life. The simplified cartoonlike animals parading across the double-page spreads are fun but may leave a child questioning their true identity. The toucan himself is colored differently on each appearance. On the surface, this a beautiful, oversized book which is exactly as advertised-- an encyclopedic listing of outlaw motorcycle clubs worldwide. Each club has a little listing containing SOME information. Some have a box containing more info-- date, place of origin, locations, club colors (actual colors-- white, blue gold,etc.) and description of the club patch... and there SOME very nice photographs of SOME patches. Which brings me to my major beef-- NOT ENOUGH! It would have been very nice if at least most of the clubs had their patches pictured. Considering how many clubs have websites and E-mail addresses, this does'nt seem to be too big an expectation... What IS here is very nice---some beautiful photography and some essays by clubbers.. BUT---another beef, there are some inaccuracies and incompletes (nit picking? perhaps.) 1)FILTHY FEW is sub group within the Hells Angels MC ONLY, and a club that stole the name in New Zealand. It is NOT a "common idiom throughout the motorcycle culture". 2)The NUGGETS MC has not flown the described patch of "a beer drinking rabbit on a motorcycle" since it's very early days. Since the late 60's, they've flown their current patch--- a gold nugget with a motorcycle inside. They rode full dressers back then and morphed into choppers--an interesting fact not mentioned. 3)The Mongrel Mob of NZ should not have been included--- they wear cuts with patches but they DON'T RIDE. 4)The Gypsy Jokers is listed as a"classic club" and it is--- their patch is listed as a grinning skull... gee whiz, that's the Australian club who just appropriated the name and made up their own patch. The Aussies have since made a connection to the originals and adopted the real top and bottom rockers but kept the skull center patch. The REAL Gypsy Joker patch was and is a walking jester--- that's a real boner on the author's part. An annoying incomplete--"Curious about that demonic critter on the Pagan's patch?" sez the back cover and the blurb on Amazon--- Yeah, it's the norse fire demon Surtur or dark Surt, BUT they DON"t say that it's a direct lift from a 1963 issue of Marvel comic's JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY in a TALES OF ASGARD story drawn by one of the greatest comic book artists of the 20th century- JACK KIRBY. Despite these criticisms, it's still a cool book... One really funny feature is a reprint of a 1960's cop manuel on outlaw bikers--- so THAT'S where they got the idea that I had a shotgun rigged up in my handlebars!

The ONE PERCENTER ENCYCLOPEDIA alludes to being an A-Z authority on outlaw motorcycle clubs ... a one-stop shop for anything/everything pertaining to such clubs ... quite appealing to anyone curious in learning more about the outlaw biker culture. While the book provides a nicely organized listing of outlaw clubs with a decent collection of color photos, it lacks the substantive content I was expecting for a book with "encyclopedia" in its title.Organized alphabetically, THE ONE PERCENTER ENCYCLOPEDIA does provide general information about a large number of bike clubs, including a multitude of lesser-known groups. Most of the entries follow a standard base of details such as date of origin, estimated membership and the territory the clubs preside. As expected, the larger, more recognizable (infamous?) clubs receive more lavish, multiple-paged entries and more photographs, but not much .Considering the subject matter, the listing of clubs is likely incomplete/ever-changing and the availability of elaborate details is understandably scant as secrecy plays a part into the one-percenter culture; I don't fault the author for this. My issue is that the book could have been so much more, well ... "encyclopedic". It would have been nice to see the colors/patch accompanying each club entry. The larger clubs do have known histories (proven by the numerous television documentaries like the "Gangland" series and books written by actual members) that could have provided significantly more information, timelines, leadership, etc. Appendices could have shed light on the various add-on patches and symbolism. Other, overview topics could have been covered as well: the numerous other patches worn, crime, tattoos, the role of women in these groups, a timeline of significant events and how the culture has progressed/regressed over the years.The whole one-percenter culture is enigmatic, ominous and provocatively interesting to those who don't ride. I believe the ONE PERCENTER ENCYCLOPEDIA is an interesting and colorful presentation of a large list of outlaw biker clubs. One the surface, the book serves as a decent overview that covers a large number of the more obscure clubs and should satisfy those with little knowledge of such clubs. But for those who enjoy reading about biker clubs, the ONE PERCENTER ENCYCLOPEDIA will likely fall short of being the resource it is expected to be.

All I can say is that Mr. Hayes did a great job in telling what the clubs represent and how they have been misrepresented by the media as being villains when they actually are a brotherhood living by their own rules which by the constitution is everyone's right. Again he has done a great job. I highly recommend this encyclopedia for those wanting this insight.

I’m a member of a 1% club listed in this book and found it to be well done and an interesting addition to my library.

The title of this book is a bit misleading. When I saw that it is an Encyclopedia, I assumed that there would be information about the various OMC's; history, notable members, significant events about criminal involvement, etc.The book is merely an identification of OMC colors or patches with very little information about the clubs. My bad for making that assumption, but the book would be more fairly referred to as a OMC colors or patch picture book. I wanted the book for more of a historical purpose, something to show the evolution of the clubs, their conflicts, alliances and the dynamics of their criminal involvement. I should have done a little more research before I bought the book.

The book is missing more clubs than it contains. Those that are in it have very little information about them. Useless.

This is for kids, but we did it as a family and it was fantastic. It's a little meatier than a devotional and while my 4th grader loves it my 2nd grader didn't like all the activities in it. It slowed down my 4th grader, so she started doing it on her own. It taught me a lot as well as the kids and I have went from children who focused their prayers on "me" and now they focus their prayers on God's will. AMAZING.

The entire book is written in military language, like your child is a soldier. I didn’t realize this when we ordered it. It’s just... odd. Very unappealing and hard to get into. We returned it and purchased “Long Story Short” and are loving that devotional for our kids.

I highly recommend the BOOK ...I have bought many hard copies of this wonderful devotional for family and friends. But buying the KINDLE version was a disappointment. More than Lightly-Updated There are NO DATES to follow and too many days messages are missing comparing it to the actual book... I guess better than nothing.

My 7 year old is enjoying this. He usually does my adult precept studies with me so this is a lighter study for the summer and he enjoys the puzzles. My 6 year old is not ready for this but we try to jnclude him as much as possible. It's a good one to start with when using these materials.

The message is so clear that God must fill us with His Holy Spirit to teach us to pray. The Holy Spirit teaches us all about Christ and we come to God in prayer through Christ.

As I mention is other reviews, that these studies are really good but the NIRV bible version would have made them better. My 6th grader liked this study and had a lot to say about the way we pray. It was really cool to see him think for himself and offer his own opinions.

Love this. So much added to my existing studies. Definitely a plus for any student of the bible's library.

This book is very up to date, the text gathers together facts about the different parts of the deep state all in one place. I am not sure about the prophetic aspects, but that part of the discussion comes toward the end of the book. This is a good way to get all the information about the components of the deep state, including names, and history, in one place. Good background for evaluating the news and current events from other sources and from the mainstream media.

I would recommend just about everything from Defender Publishing. I knew about the Deep State. I was looking for something that could put it all in one book. And, this a great place to start and/or remind yourself of the deeper problem in Washington DC and the world.

This is a well-written, well-organized, easy-to-read book that provides eye-opening insight into the source and history of the globalist-progressive ideology held by both past and current world leaders and persons of influence. It shows that the globalist goal is to establish a "new world order," and ultimately a one-world government. The book makes it clear that Trump's election, with his nationalistic beliefs, did not track with the agenda. He has derailed, at least for now, policies that were moving the United States in that direction. For an understanding of the history and reach of globalism, this is the book. Key individuals, past and present, who drive the movement are identified by name; and insight is given into many of the secret societies behind the agenda. The book shows that moving the world toward a new world order includes controlling key power centers in the world, including in economics, education, politics, energy etc. The book highlights that spiritual forces operating behind the scenes are the ultimate driver of globalism. I couldn't recommend a book more.

While containing a few too many biblical references, this book is a must read for all freedom loving Americans. Broadly researched, this fact- based expose shows that there are many dark forces acting behind the scenes in our country and government. It fits well with the fact that our media is widely run and controlled by The Establishment, in this case members of the Bilderbergs, CFR & Trilateral Commission, all globalists fighting to limit or end our sovereignty. With the constant, otherwise unexplainable attacks on Trump, and seemingly senseless activism across the country, the facts of this book have never been more clear or more relevant.

If you want to understand what in the world is going on with our government and society in general and why our politicians do the strange things they do and take the warped position they take, especially the totally wacked out Democrats, then read this book. The thoughts in this book are all accurate and will be shocking to people who blindly follow pop culture and believe the main stream media without questioning anything, like lemmings. The books pulls together many conspiracy theories into one presentation. The book is somewhat difficult to read and there are many unexplained assertions but given the amount of material covered that is not surprising. Otherwise if the author thoroughly explained everything the book would be 1000 pages. Very much worth reading a second time, which I will definitely read it a second time.
