I have made many recipes from this book and have been pleased with them! My kids favorites are the pancakes, cheesy rice with peas and the pizza!

Great recipes, very healthy. I have used every recipe in this book, from the baby food recipes when my daughter started eating solids, to the recipes for finger food. Love this book!

It's great that this book is going to be reprinted again, since its first publication in 1939. It's a very useful book.All the concepts of perspective are explained in plain and simple English. It teaches the basic foundation well, in a progressive manner where you build onto what you've learned earlier. Included are examples that emphasis the lesson point effectively. Once you get it, you get it forever.Google Book Search has a limited preview of Perspective Made Easy.For the low price, it's worth every cent.(Check out my Amazon profile for other books I've reviewed.)

The best book for learning perspective. There are other books out there that have more information, and if you are looking for something very technical, Perspective for Artists by Rex Cole is a great reference, but Norling's book is the best book on learning perspective. I've been using this book for a couple of months now and would recommend it to anyone wanting to learn perspective.

If you do any kind of drawing or painting, do yourself a favor and read this book at least once. Its author has the rare talent of being able to explain mysterious concepts very clearly with helpful illustrations and simple wording. He points out a lot of super basic principles which you never get taught elsewhere, and they will quite likely forever change the way you approach your projects. I'm not what you'd call a super talented artist, and I found this to be very encouraging and helpful. You really pick up that the author sincerely wants to help make art a more enjoyable perspective for you.

This book is written from an artist's point of view, and is designed specifically to help drawings. Although it was written originally in 1939, the rules of perspective don't change, and it was updated in the late 60's. It covers vanishing points, moving vanishing points, and using the rules of perspective to make drawings of interiors. It covers ellipses, cylinders and cones. I bought 2 books on perspective and they pretty much said the same thing --- but the explanations were slightly different which helped my understanding. A great reference!!

I bought this book because I decided that I wanted to learn to draw. Obvious to me is that I needed a lesson on perspective. This book definitely fits the bill. It starts out very basic and builds on each idea. My favorite part of the book is the antiquated example, "Imagine your wearing a diving helmet." A diving helmet? Why would I wear that? Why wouldn't I wear a snorkel and mask. It's just an added entertainment feature.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I loved this book. I had actually forgotten I pre-ordered it and was surprised to find it in my library yesterday. I am so glad I bought it. Ms. Ross is an incredibly talented world builder and her characters leap off the page. Brianne and Cartier's love was complex and fully realized, her friendships were organic and beautiful. I loved the time spent with the other ardens it was so beautiful and without it the story may have fallen flat. The explanation for Brianne's memories and her final decision were so poetic. This book is about the power of womanhood and sisterhood but uses a deft hand to speak to both. I would recommend fans of high fantasy read The Queen's Rising as it toes the line between what I consider traditionally YA fantasy and an adult high fantasy novel.My Conclusion: buy it, buy it now.

This book was just, WOW. The writing is beautifully crafted, with some of the most stunning descriptive scenes I have every read. The author’s writing was just magical; the whole story was a motion picture inside my head. I was captivated by the author’s writing from start to finish. The world building, the plot, and the characters were all unique.I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and storyline. Whereas some people may note it as being slow, I saw it as a build up to the epic finale. The author made sure the readers were well-informed of every background and Brienna’s long and dangerous journey, and made sure it all came together in the end.The slow-burning romance was intense, and I savored every moment between Brienna and her love interest. And there were times where I got antsy because I was waiting for something romantic to happen and when it did, I had to read it over and over again because, ROMANCE. I’m a sucker for fantasy romance. Plus, I really liked that it was not your standard romance; it was an attraction that grew overtime for both of them.Overall, I really enjoyed The Queen’s Rising and I look forward to what is in store for Brienna in book two.

~~~~ 4.5 Stars ~~~~My streak has continued... I have been extremely lucky lately with my book selections and The Queen's Rising did not disappoint! It was beautifully written (though sometimes transparent and predictable) and it was ultimately, wholeheartedly and undeniably satisfying. Yes it did suffer a bit from Things-Conveniently-Falling-Into-Place- Rather- Easily syndrome AND the romance was a dollop mechanical, saccharine and tame BUT it was ALSO a fun, engrossing, uplifting gem gifted nicely (and rather neatly wrapped) with a big ole Happy Ending for (Almost) All glitter bow.

Now, I love strong female protagonists and a fast pace, but this book moved too fast. The book assumed deep relationships based on a few events and pages, like the bond of father-daughter between Lord MacQuinn and Brienna, and the friendship between Isolde and Brienna, to name a few. They 'deep' bond and loyalty seemed sudden. The books did a lot of telling in terms of the relationships between characters. It TOLD us that Brienna felt a strong kinship to her patron father without giving it much action. What happened? He gave her a home, but not many events brought them from point A (allies in arms) to B (loving father and daughter). The same with Brienna and Isolde. The book TOLD us that she was loyal to her queen, which I could understand, but it also TOLD us they were close friends and sisters. From what? A lesson in swordsmanship? The same goal of reclaiming the throne? What other events or moments led them to become so close? And those are just two examples. I'm bot even fully sure how to analyze Cartier and Brienna's romance. While yes, it did hint and state it, I felt like it skipped over something, going from Brienna's crush to loving him. It was a little more developed than the rest of the relationships, but it didn't have me rooting or caring for them. I felt like I missed Brienna falling for him and skipped to her in love with him.The Queen Rising was a fun read with an interesting plot, but how the relationships were written were quite lacking. Besides the relationships, the writing was otherwise great and it DID entertain me.

Hi everyone, I absolutely loved and still love The Queen's Rising!! I loved all the characters in it especially Brianna and her sisters. I could relate to them in my own life. The plot is amazing and hooks you from the beginning. I felt like I was one of the characters the whole time and experienced everything that Brianna did. Rebecca Ross does a fantastic job of keeping you wondering what's next in every page. I couldn't put down the book! THE QUEEN'S RISING is beautifully written in every way. Can't wait to see what the Author has next!!!

A fantastic and fast-moving fantasy. Seriously, a different author would have taken all the events of this book and stretched them out into two or three books, which would have been reasonable. But it all happens in this one book, so there’s always something happening, and everything that happens is just a delight.The writing is solid, the characters are distinct and awesome, the female friendships are great, and the romance is just wonderful. And the world is so incredibly well-realized.I would advise against looking at the character lists and family trees at the beginning because spoilers, but that’s a problem with the publishers being a bit dumb. Everything else is a delight.

In this book I have found some helpful tips. Those introductions and set of recipes could have easily been combined to a single book leaving the fat bombs in its own world. I like all most every recipe in this book, which are associated with this diet. The recipes are easy to prepare and it has a clear and easy to understand instruction. Most of these low carb recipes are very delicious and easy to cook. The information is great. This guide is truly an asset to tackle the low carb diet, and I would call it a clear must read for anyone taking on a low carb diet.

I love low carb eating, so I was looking for some recipes to add variety to my diet. Overall, I like this book. The chicken and broccoli stuffed zucchini recipe in the reading sample (what sold me on buying the book) was delicious! My only concern is that the measurements of some of the recipe ingredients appears to be off. For example, I made the brownies and the recipe called for 2 cups of granulated stevia. There was only 1 cup of almond flour, so I thought that sounded like way too much stevia for the amount of flour, and I was right. It was terrible. It was completely inedible; and, given the price of the ingredients, it was an expensive mistake. Again, it appears that most of the recipes are good, but if the ingredients sound off, they may be.Some of the recipes also require ingredients that you may have to get at a specialty grocery store or a health food store.

If you are looking to change your lifestyle and not just go on a diet, Marc Reid's Low Carb Diet Cookbook is the way to go. The recipes are amazing and I love that Marc includes yummy dessert and snack options. The emphasis on not just dieting for 30 days, but detoxing first to prepare your body for healthy food options and then delivering a comprehensive cook book is what really draws me to this book. The huge variety of recipes will make sure that I don't get bored eating the same thing over and over again. Variety is key and Marc definitely provides that.

I apologize for longer review. I will be returning this book. Some books are meant only for those who know how to cook and others are good also for beginners. This cookbook is not meant for those beginners who need precise directions as this cookbook takes shortcuts in directions, is inconsistent with how it measures ingredients, is imprecise in instructions, misses ingredients and has sloppy editing. Further, for the beginner low-carb person, there is not a consistent use of ingredients.Upon receipt of this book, it is clear that this is an attempt a self-publishing (no publisher’s page) with severe lack of editing. On the second page, the foreword thanks the customer for purchasing a cookbook with a different title.After the Table of Contents and a paragraph intro prefaced with Shakespeare, there is slightly over a page that communicates what the author has stated as the truth about carbs. It reads like a grade school report (minus the required citations). The author also gets off topic in this very short preview including knocking dairy products as a source of dietary sensitivities. While I will concede that there is some truth to this statement as I have a daughter who is limited in what her dairy intake may be, the author needs to provide back up for their accusation. Ironically, the cookbook uses dairy in several of its recipes.The cookbook is very inconsistent. Sometimes Tbsp is used to represent tablespoon, other times, tbsp. The author will list a capitalized ingredient like Garlic Powder and then show the next ingredient with mixed caps like Onion powder followed by an ingredient all lower case. For some recipes, the measurement is before the listed ingredients, and for other recipes, it is listed in parentheses behind the listed ingredients. And there are recipes where an ingredient listed only within the cooking instructions, but not included with a quantity in the ingredient list. I even saw one dry ingredient with just a 3 in front (did that mean cups, ¾ cup, Tbsp, tsp). While measurements are usually in English standard, there is metric also included (i.e. 100 ml cream, 125 g cream cheese and 500 g ground beef) and one recipe was even so oddly precise that it called for 4.48 lbs pork chops. While there is some attempt at nutritional information, this is also inconsistent. Sometimes total carbs and fiber are presented, sometimes only net carbs, and then in the dessert section, many of the recipes only list calories and fat with no mention of carbs.There are identical repeats of recipes within this book. A chicken stew, breaded cutlet recipe, garlic chicken thighs, and chicken cauliflower lasagna recipes on pages 193 – 200 are repeated on pages 258 – 265 verbatim except for the title of the recipe.Directions are not for the beginner and makes assumptions of equipment available. Example: Cook cauliflower in microwave on the vegetable setting. Not all microwaves have a vegetable setting. The book does not provide an alternative such as a few minutes in boiling water and wringing out extra water. Another example: pan fry onions and green peppers. No length of time provided to do this such as 5 minutes nor were observational cues provided such as until softened or until onions translucent or nearing carmelized.Nor should this cookbook be considered for someone starting out based upon the diversity of ingredients listed. For example, sweeteners vary tremendously – there is liquid Stevia, granulated Stevia, Erythritol, Xylitol, agave nectar, sugar free maple syrup, Yacon syrup, Natvia, Truvia. Similarly, there are an abundance of flour substitutes including coconut flower, almond flour, arrowroot, ground flax, psyllium husk powder. Also, there is Metamucil powder and a half dozen varieties of protein powders.Despite the gold seal on the front cover that states weight loss guaranteed (yes, I know – who really believes that), the book concludes with over a page of legal disclaimers including any guarantee assurances. What is that about?!?In summary, this is a poorly written book with no editing and will certainly be returned.

I love this book. This is because it contains recipes that are my favorites. I love to eat sweets and I do not know that it can be prepared that can be considered carb-friendly. I will persuade the girlfriend to cook the recipes found here together.

"The Last Palace" tells the story of Eastern Europe, more specifically Czechoslovakia (later the Czech Republic) in a unique way through the story of a very large house that was build by a very assimilated Jewish man in the late 1920's and early 1930's as fascism was on the rise. It seems clear that there were two groups of people in Prague who hated the house, the anti-Semites who hated anything that was built by someone Jewish and everyone else who hated the monstrosity. Overlaying this story is the story of the author's mother who grew up outside of Prague in an Orthodox Jewish family who it seems had few survivors after the Holocaust. The author describes through subterfuge of the US ambassador immediately at the end of World War II how the house became the property of the US government and the official home of the ambassador (which he eventually was, as well under, President Obama). A major cameo role is that of the late Shirley Temple Black who was also for a time the US ambassador in Prague. The story is told with appropriate detail and interest - even telling us of the role of the Nazi leader in Czechoslovakia in preserving the house (a good Nazi, or perhaps not among the worst?). The only thing lacking from this what is essentially a biography of a house, seemingly the last such house build in Europe, hence the title of the book, would have been more pictures of the actual house and its contents, ideally in color. Highly recommended for many reasons, not the least of all, is a look of how the highly assimilated and wealthy Jews were also struck down by the Holocaust. His mother's thoughts on her native country when he was appointed ambassador there certainly provide a bit of levity wrapping around a certain truth.

Eisen's mother left Czechoslovakia in Hitler's railroad cars as a young woman and her son returned as the United States Ambassador to the Czech Republic in the Obama Administration.Norman Eisen has written an unbelievably interesting book about one house, two families, three US ambassadors, and countless others who were involved in the last 100 years of history. He takes the reader through four - or is it five? - political systems which controlled and, in some cases, oppressed the Czech people.Many people reading this review will know about the famous house in the Czech/Moravian city of Brno. Known as the Vila Tugendhat, the Mies-designed house was built in the late 1920's by a wealthy Jewish family, the Tugendhats. The house is now a Unesco World Heritage site and was the subject of a work of fiction, "The Glass Room", by British author Simon Mawrer. But less well-known is a fabulous palace built in Prague around the same time, by Otto Petschek. Like the Tugendhats, the Petschek family fled Europe in the 1930's. The palace was left behind and was eventually used by the United States as an official residence both before WW2 and after. During the war, the house was used by a German general, Rudolf Toussaint.Eisen writes about Toussaint and the German occupation, post-WW2 ambassador Laurence Steinhardt, who tried to settle the Russian/US/Czech political and military crunch , and lastly, Shirley Temple Black. Black was in Prague during the 1968 "uprising" and returned in the late 1980's, presiding over the Velvet Revolution as our ambassador. Scattered through the book is the story of Frieda Eisen, her family, and her recollections of the Czechoslovakia she knew...and the one she was afraid of. Norman Eisman is a masterful writer. His book, while long, was a pleasure to read. I hope it's issued also in Audible.

This eye-opening view of an historical monument in Prague is riveting. The Shirley Temple Black episode is incredible, and the author's deft weaving of his own personal story through the last century in Prague is really something to behold. One of my favorite reads in a long time!

I enjoyed reading this outstanding book detailing the history of the Palace built by a German- Jewish business man and banker. Following the owners escape,the palace had different occupants including Germans, Soviets, and after the war it became an American Embassy. The author also discussed important events of Czechoslovakia and the Czek Republic from 1918 to 2014, combined with the life of his mother who survived the holocaust,went to Israel and ended up in America. I highly recommend this book,even for those (like me) who are familiar with the turbulent history of Czechoslovakia.

This book is fascinating from start to finish. Both a personal account, a page-turner and an in-depth history book. All of the chapters are full of new information and new accounts about the history of Czechoslovakia. I could not stop reading.

Half way through and have yet to read personal accounts or recollections of life during this turbulent and important time. The long section about Rudolf Toussaint had little to do with the house other than as one of its inhabitants. No incentive to continue. An inert house can only be interesting 358 pages if it's telling a story about human lives. Very disappointing as I had high hopes for a genre I normally love.

Interesting portrayal of a country through the history of one of its finer mansionsSurprisingly fails to mention that Prague's old Jewish quarter remained intact rather than was destroyed in WW II because the Nazis wished to preserve it as a museum of an extinct people.

In these days of fostering shame and confusion, regarding a man being a man, this book is a refreshing reminder of those time-honored standards which spell out what a man is, and what he must do to continually cultivate his manhood, which at the end of the day, renders him a valuable asset to himself, women and children.

I love the history of the iron game. Lieberman practices what he preaches and shares some great stories. Endurance is strength continued.

This book is not worth the paper it is written on. Very disappointing, no substance, no real idea's. Too much to write that is negative about this book.

One of the top "Physical Culture" books ever written by the great Earle Liederman. This book combines history with great information as it was written about 90 years ago. The principles of training in this book still hold true today. A great read. Modern day "toner types" looking for the magic formula, look elsewhere. For those who appreciate the history of physical culture and the iron game and want to build real strength (without drugs) ... you will love this book.
